1. Introduction
2. Information We Collect
When you sign in, we may collect or process identity information such as your Firebase user ID, authentication tokens, display name, and email address, depending on the sign-in method you choose.
We may also collect profile details, avatar selection, quest completion data, habit progress, achievements, and related game progress to support app functionality and synchronization across devices.
If you choose to personalize AI Quests, we collect the goals, focus areas, and constraints you enter during onboarding (for example, objectives, preferred habit domains, or limitations you tell us about). Providing this information is optional; it is used to tailor quest suggestions to you. See “AI Personalization” below.
Health-related information. Some optional onboarding questions ask about your physical condition and lifestyle so that the quests we suggest are safe for you. These may include your age, how often you exercise, any injuries or physical areas you want quests to avoid, and lifestyle habits such as smoking or drinking. This is health-related information, and we treat it as sensitive.
Providing it is entirely optional and relies on your explicit consent: you may answer “none”, or skip these questions altogether, and AI Quests will still work using more generic suggestions. We use this information for one purpose only — to calibrate quest intensity and to avoid suggesting activities that could hurt you. We never use it for advertising or profiling, and never to make judgements about you. You can change or clear these answers at any time from your profile, and you may withdraw your consent by clearing them.
If you pre-register on our website, we collect the email address you submit so we can notify you at launch and grant your founder trial. You can ask us to remove it at any time by contacting support.
We may collect or process device-related information needed to operate the app, such as notification tokens and data used by third-party services like Firebase, Supabase, RevenueCat, and AdMob.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Create and manage your account.
- Save and sync your app progress.
- Deliver quests, achievements, and leaderboard features.

5. Data Sharing
We share data only with the services required to run LevelsUp:
- Firebase for authentication and messaging.
- Supabase for backend storage and sync.
- RevenueCat for subscription management.
- AdMob for advertising.
- Google Gemini (AI) to generate personalized quest suggestions, when you use AI features.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. AI Personalization
AI Quests use a third-party artificial-intelligence provider (currently Google Gemini) to generate quest suggestions. When you use these features, the profile and goal information you provided — such as your objectives, focus areas, and constraints — is sent to the AI provider so it can produce suggestions tailored to you.
This includes the health-related answers described above — your age, exercise frequency, injuries to avoid, and lifestyle habits — where you have chosen to provide them. They are sent so the AI can avoid prescribing activities that would be unsafe for you: for example, it is instructed not to target areas you listed as injured, and to keep intensity appropriate to your stated baseline. If you do not provide these answers, nothing health-related is sent.
We send only what is needed to generate suggestions and do not use this data to build advertising profiles. The AI provider processes it under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not permit your personal data to be used to train the provider's public models where such controls are available to us.
Personalization is optional. If you do not provide goal details, AI suggestions will be more generic. AI-generated quests are for motivation only and are not professional advice — see our Terms of Service for details.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
When you log out or delete your local app data, LevelsUp clears local Room database records and DataStore preferences from your device.
Activity history is retained for up to 6 months. Your itemized quest-completion history is automatically deleted once it is older than six months. Your overall progression — level, total XP, rank, and achievements — is stored as your current profile state, not recomputed from that history, so pruning old activity never resets your progress. Because of this, a data export returns at most the last 6 months of activity; there is no full lifetime history.
At this time, backend data stored in Supabase is not automatically deleted by the Android app. If you want permanent deletion of your backend account data, please contact our support team by email and request account deletion. We will process the request manually or through administrative backend action.
Some data may be retained temporarily for security, audit, or legal reasons, or as required by third-party services such as RevenueCat, Firebase, Supabase, and AdMob.
